Railings

If you're building a new home and decide to have stairs with railings, then you have to make some decisions on what type of railing you will use. If you use the right type of banister it can bring years of fun for the kids and create memories that will stay with them into adulthood. There are some considerations you need to consider. For example, you need to know the style of architecture you will be using in your home to make the banister fit in nicely and not stick out like a sore thumb. To make sure you are getting the right design may take looking at a lot of different ones until you are sure of the one that will work for you. You will have to know what a newel means as well as a balustrade. After you get familiar with these terms then you can go on to deciding what kind of threads you will need and if they will fit in with the design you have chosen.

In order to decide on a banister give yourself enough time to get familiar with their construction and what kinds of materials will work best for you. Keep going back and try and construct the whole thing in your mind and as you do other questions will arise that will need answers. Another way of choosing a banister that will be right for you is by taking some pictures of what you see in other places and that will help you narrow down your decision making. You can have a simple stair case with a railing or a sweeping staircase with a banister that swirls from top to bottom but this will most certainly be based on the space you have in your home and your pocket book.
