Wood Cabins
Rustic wood cabins look
like a part of nature when they are nestled by the side of a pond. The
rough hewn logs inside and out portray a vision of going back to nature
to the days of the pioneers. Just saying that a cabin is rustic does not
imply a specific style of architecture. It is the warmth the cabin emits
is what draws cottage builders to this design.
You do not need to have a log cabin to have one made of wood. You can
actually build a cabin in the same form as building a regular wood
house. It is the stain or paint you use on the outside that will give it
the rustic look. Adding touches such as a wood stove, iron cooking
utensils that hang from the ceiling and wooden cupboards can also give
your cabin the look you want. A fireplace was a traditional part of
every cabin and today's builders try to replicate the old stone
fireplaces that early settlers once used. However, they are used for
warmth or decorative effect and not for cooking.
In parks, such cabins are an attraction that draws tourists and turns
them into paying customers. Getting out of the city and being able to
spend time in a small cabin is the ultimate vacation for most
city-dwellers who do not have a cottage of their own. If you have a land
area of land with a million dollar view or access to a lake, then you
can become one of the business owners who do quite well during the
summer season.
Small cabins made of wood are a part of history. They were once the
beginning of towns and villages everywhere as settlers moved into an
area. These cabins rarely had windows, but today's cabins are more
modern with large windows and often patio doors that open onto a deck.
